SanBio has initiated a Phase 1/2A study of SB623 in chronic, stable stroke patients


SanBio, Inc, a San Francisco Bay Area Company, is developing SB623 cell therapy for stable stroke.
SB623 cells are modified bone marrow-derived stem cells. In animal stroke studies, measurable
improvements in use of limbs have been shown. An FDA-approved Phase 1/2a clinical trial is underway
to evaluate the safety an therapeutic potential of SB623. This clinical trial will enroll a total of 18 patients
that had a ischemic stroke within the past 3 years.

This clinical trial is taking place at both Stanford (in Palo Alto, California) and the University of Pittsburgh
(in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). All transportation and study-related costs will be covered.
